Arizona senior services cover many areas for your aging parents.
Programs for elderly help are especially strong in compensating for
disabilities and frailties of age. There are also nutrition programs,
housing programs, transportation, social and recreational programs. Both
state and federal programs are distributed in 8 regions around the
state.
Various programs are provided in different offices. If you begin your
research and exploration early with your aging parents, you will be
able to discover which Arizona elderly programs may enhance their life
in the future.
You can use one of several online tools to explore what programs and services your parents may be eligible for. Talking about the range of possibilities may also prove a creative catalyst as they are talking about the kind of life they would like to design for their future.
All Area Agencies on Aging advocate, plan, coordinate, develop and deliver services for seniors 60 years and older and for family caregivers. To meet their objectives, each regional Agency contracts with other social service providers, health departments and nutrition sites to deliver services that assist the elderly, helping them to remain in their homes as long as possible.
Elders can qualify for Nutrition Services/Home Delivered Meals to
Family Caregiver Services, Home Health Aides, Home and Community Based
Services. There are also services to support home caregivers like Adult
Day Care, Case Management, and Respite Care. Legal services are provided
and an ombudsman office for long term care and health insurance.
